The Senior Systems Engineer provides advanced systems engineering and technical expertise in support of MARFORCYBER and its subordinate commands. This position is responsible for technical planning, decision analysis, requirements management, risk analysis, verification, validation, and implementation support. The Senior Systems Engineer develops and maintains planning documentation, advises on safeguarding IT infrastructure against cyber-based attacks, and ensures MARFORCYBER systems are technically mature, resilient, and aligned with mission requirements.

  • Provide systems engineering services to MARFORCYBER, including assessments of technology maturity, platform requirements, and technical assistance.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs), ensuring alignment with other program plans.
  • Conduct technical planning, define scope and objectives, identify risks, and establish technical reviews, schedules, and costs.
  • Perform decision analyses using quantitative and visual methods, develop evaluation criteria, assess alternatives, and provide recommendations to Government decision makers.
  • Deliver Technical Assessment Reports by analyzing program health, risk, and technical maturity; provide recommendations to mitigate risk and advise on technical readiness.
  • Manage requirements through Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM), support development of ICDs, AoAs, CDDs, CPDs, and translate capability objectives into technical requirements.
  • Maintain a risk register, risk checklists, and develop Risk Mitigation Plans to minimize negative project impacts.
  • Conduct requirements analysis to define system functions, constraints, and performance requirements; translate user needs into technical specifications.
  • Provide implementation support by analyzing constraints, developing prototypes, documenting production issues, and delivering system elements for integration and verification.
  • Manage and execute verification processes, ensuring systems comply with regulations, specifications, and baselines.
  • Support validation activities throughout system lifecycles, including validation reports and operational testing.
  • Produce required deliverables, including Technical Reports, SEMPs, Decision Tables, Technical Assessments, RTVMs, Risk Management Plans, and Validation Reports.
  • May oversee engineering support staff or task leads as directed.
  • Provide technical and management leadership on engineering-related tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting and sustaining DoD cyberspace programs.
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting cyberspace capability development.
  • 5+ years of experience with Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), including adversary detection, intrusion forensics, and network recovery.
  • Active CISSP certification.
  • Master’s degree in information systems management or related field.
  • Advanced understanding of technical planning, requirements management, and systems lifecycle engineering.
  • Strong decision analysis, risk analysis, and systems assessment skills.
  • Ability to produce complex technical documentation, assessments, and reports.
  • Knowledge of DoDIN operations, DCO, OCO, and cyber mission engineering.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills to support Government PMs and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS as required.
