About The Position

NOTE: This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening. Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens or US Permanent Residents, holding a green card, will be considered. This role will require 1-2 days in the office at our Kirkland, WA Office Location. As a member of the Systems Engineering's Compliance and Vulnerability Management team, you will support critical initiatives across both commercial and regulated environments. In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities within the hosting stack. Success in this position requires a strong technical foundation in systems engineering, including experience with Linux-based operating systems, containerized services, configuration and change management, security scanning tools, and vulnerability analysis. You will work closely with teams across the organization to ensure systems meet established SLAs and align with all relevant compliance requirements. This role also involves contributing to team-based problem-solving efforts, developing practical solutions, and resolving issues within required internal and regulatory timelines.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale system design and operations, preferably on Linux
  • A solid understanding of systems engineering concepts and components
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation on server platforms
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation for containerized services
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, issues, and solutions
  • Strong coordination and troubleshooting skills for complex incidents and escalations
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python
  • Experience utilizing AI-driven tools or workflows to improve efficiency, support decision-making, or streamline vulnerability management and operational processes

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DNS, email systems, networking, operating systems, load balancers, and databases
  • Experience with CI/CD and container deployment
  • Familiarity with security scanner outputs, vulnerability analysis, and remediation processes

Responsibilities

  • Understand issues currently facing the environment and derive long term solutions.
  • Work on vulnerabilities associated with the enterprise hosts and container services.
  • Analyze the vulnerability scan results and fix them appropriately
  • Partner with stakeholders and customers, help them understand the nuances of the infrastructure with respect to compliance and security.
  • Partner with engineering team for required upgrades/updates/patching
  • Partner with service delivery teams for proper rollout of fixes.
  • Partner with compliance and security team, to maintain high standards of security to satisfy federal mandates.
  • Create / Update / Enhance documentation and knowledge articles.
