About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team of passionate individuals in Ft. Meade, MD. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation’s security and intelligence mission. In support of DISA, the Intel and Cyber Division is assembling a team to support a program that provides critical IT capabilities to the Department of Defense. We are committed to recruiting and retaining this team for prototype development, test, and demonstration, as well as making this team available longer term for integration, deployment and sustainment as needed. Requirements

  • Experience with Windows Server 2022-2025, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and WSUS
  • Experience with PKI including managing Certificate Authorities and issuing certificates
  • Experience deploying and configuring Nutanix AHV, AOS, and Prism
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware ESXi, vCenter, VCP 7.X. & 8.X
  • Experience implementing and managing Cisco UCS Computing Servers, Hyperflex solutions, and Intersight
  • Experience administering, managing, and patching Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
  • Experience working in a DoD classified environment
  • Demonstrated experience implementing security requirements associated with DoD enterprise systems
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and managing Splunk Enterprise
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and managing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2022 and newer
  • Experience with backup systems such as VEEAM, Acronis, etc.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and RMF processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience briefing high-level as well as detailed system capabilities and operational concerns and considerations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field, or an additional five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • 8 (eight) years of related systems engineering, architecture design, and systems integration experience.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify appropriate solutions based on system requirements
  • Contribute to system design, development, and engineering tasks
  • Manage and track workload during Agile sprints using JIRA and Confluence tools
  • Produce system architecture design documentation and contribute to integration planning
  • Deploy enterprise-level virtual environment software and management suites (VMware ESXi and Nutanix AHV hypervisors)
  • Assist with the design and implementation of system configurations with an overall goal of highly adaptable, scalable, and resilient services in a global system deployment
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Deliver and integrate new technical solutions and provide advice and recommendations to government customers
  • Perform system and software updates to enhance performance
  • Develop and implement solutions across a wide range of technologies
  • Implement and maintain Government standards for system security
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
