The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer – Jumping Cholla Systems Engineering (SE) Individual Contributor to join our Tucson, AZ location. Jumping Cholla is a fast-paced, cutting edge, technology development program supporting an immediate customer need. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multiple disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, Chief Engineers, Chief Technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! As a Sr. Systems Engineer – Jumping Cholla SE Individual Contributor, you will join the Jumping Cholla program as a member of the Systems, Performance, Algorithms, Software, and Simulations Team. You will be responsible for requirements and architecture development & management, verification planning, and IPT design support activities. This includes specification tree creation & maintenance, system architecture development, systems requirements decomposition, system verification planning, and coordinating with program IPTs as the Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE). You will be responsible for developing and maintaining SE Artifacts. These responsibilities include coordination across teams, sharing program knowledge, mentoring engineers, and working with technical and program leaders.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Missile Systems
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Security Clearance: Secret - Current

Nice To Haves

  • Experience giving technical presentations
  • A self-starter who can take on tasks with limited guidance
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Experience using MBSE tools (DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.)
  • Familiarity with program coordination management tools (Jira, Confluence, cPDM, etc.)
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
  • Familiarity with system safety, reliability, Q&MA, and configuration management
  • Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Existing Top-Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, maintain, and improve systems architecture design and drawings
  • Develop, Update, maintain, and improve requirements and requirements documentation
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer within assigned IPT and across all teams
  • Ensure technical rigor of systems engineer documents
  • Coordinate with technical leads to execution program tasks
  • Develop materials for customer meetings (Formal Technical Reviews, Technical Interface Meetings, status meetings, etc.) and brief customer representatives
