Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of effectors programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer – SETC Effectors. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience
• Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test
• Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.
• US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in a STEM field
• Defense Industry, specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
• Digital and model-based engineering tools (DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo), requirements management, and MATLAB scripting

Responsibilities

• Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces
• Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing
• Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging
• Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues
• Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact
• Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders
• Work with and lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality
• Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders
• Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements
• Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers
• Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations
