About The Position

At Raytheon, the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) department is responsible for integrating, verifying, and validating products. This involves developing plans and procedures, debugging and evaluating system functions and interfaces, creating test environments, and collaborating closely with customers to ensure products perform reliably. The SE&TC team offers an exciting and challenging environment for designing, developing, and testing innovative solutions. This specific opportunity is for a Senior Systems Engineer - FIT Lead, based in Tucson, AZ. The FIT Lead's primary responsibility will be to facilitate failure investigations, conduct root cause analysis, define corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness. This role will largely support the program’s Reliability Team and its leadership. Additionally, the FIT Lead may participate in field qualification testing to confirm that the system under test meets all specified requirements and to validate the implementation and results of corrective actions.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Experience with data for CONUS and/or OCONUS.
  • Experience with factory, deport or field environment.
  • Experience with cable harnesses, rack-and-stack components, or prototype hardware.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a test environment with emphasis in test execution.

  • Experience working with US Government customers
  • Experience with troubleshooting electronics and All Up Rounds (AUR)
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Experience with Coyote flight test operations or other rapid development programs
  • Ability to become certified in explosives handling for 1.1 products

Responsibilities

  • Running failure investigations, creating fault trees and driving to a root cause and corrective actions
  • Conduct/create documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which may include Failure Review Boards and Engineering Safety Review Boards (ESRB’s).
  • Participate in continuous troubleshooting activities, be capable of leading efforts, ability to break down faults, create plans to resolve faults with the assistance of product leads and responsible engineering authorities, and report/brief recommendations for technical issues.
  • Development of engineering estimates to completion on FIT activities (labor and timeline)
  • Data analysis: Collecting and analyzing failure data to identify trends and patterns, informing preventative maintenance strategies
  • Liaison between the test execution team, customer representatives (when present) and program leads during the preparation and execution of the test events.
  • Utilize reliability analysis tools (e.g. RFRACAS, Reliasoft Tool Suite or Windchill)
