About The Position

GCyber is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer (Edge Computing) to support a US Coast Guard program in Kearneysville, WV. You will play a key role in supporting USCG cutter recapitalization efforts including the design, deployment, and sustainment of edge computing environments capable of supporting advanced workloads, including AI, GPU, virtualization, and containerized platforms. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, this position is expected to perform full-time onsite at the USCG facility. As a Senior Systems Engineer , you will: Build and maintain system images for new server models procured as part of cutter recapitalization efforts Support hardware and software components of the Cutter Server Edge Computing Stack Engineer and support edge environments capable of hosting AI workloads, GPU acceleration, virtualization platforms, and container-based technologies Collaborate with system administrators, network teams, and stakeholders to ensure edge computing solutions meet operational and performance requirements Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of edge computing platforms in support of mission needs

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, CND, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience performing systems engineering in an enterprise DoD environment
  • Hands-on experience engineering and supporting virtualization platforms and containerized environments in a DoD or enterprise setting
  • Experience supporting systems with GPU acceleration or high-performance computing workloads

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting mission systems in constrained or mission environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities
