About The Position

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create? A day in the life As a Sr. Sensors Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will: Work with Sensor Architects to transition Sensor DRI ownership from design to NPI validation phase. Attend cross-functional program meetings and work with cross-functional team (PD/EE/Display/Optics/Operation etc.) on sensor integration and manufacturing g readiness, risks, and mitigations. Review hardware designs (e.g. CAD, schematics, layout, etc.) from partner teams as part of NPI validation process. Run data analysis and make design trade-off decisions as part of NPI validation process. Lead root-cause identification efforts for manufacturing issues and report status to leadership. Work with manufacturing team and contract manufacturers to optimize the build and test processes. Analyze yield and establish test limits. Write design guidelines based on acquired experience and knowledge, that will be used on subsequent projects. Explore new ideas and sensing technologies and contribute to new product exploration and prototyping. Meet with junior engineers to provide guidance and mentorship.
