Senior Systems Architect

TNT Crane & RiggingHouston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

TNT Crane & Rigging is looking for a hands-on Senior Systems Architect to serve as the technical authority over our enterprise systems ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of ERP platform ownership, data engineering, and analytics — and is central to how we scale our technology infrastructure across a growing, multi-entity operation. You will own the architectural integrity of our ERP platform and its integration with surrounding systems covering operations, finance, fleet, safety, and HR. Beyond ERP, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a modern data foundation — including a cloud-based data lake and Power BI reporting layer — that gives leadership real-time visibility into the business. This is a doer role: you will define standards and also execute on them directly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise data architecture, ERP systems, or senior data engineering roles
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, dbt, Talend, Informatica, or similar)
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and data lake concepts (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable enterprise BI tools
  • Experience designing integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, or iPaaS middleware platforms
  • Comfortable working in multi-entity, multi-location business environments
  • Strong communicator — able to translate technical architecture into plain business language for executive audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Background in construction, heavy equipment, crane services, or other asset-intensive industries
  • Familiarity with ERP data models in multi-entity, multi-site environments
  • Exposure to master data management, metadata management, or data lineage tools
  • Experience with event streaming or change data capture (CDC) patterns

Responsibilities

  • ERP & Systems Architecture Serve as the primary technical owner of our ERP platform — its configuration, data model, and integration with surrounding business systems
  • Translate business processes across operations, finance, fleet, safety, and HR into scalable ERP configurations and workflows
  • Define and enforce data governance standards within the ERP: naming conventions, master data practices, and data lifecycle policies
  • Provide architectural guidance during system implementations, upgrades, and configuration decisions
  • Data Lake & Integration Support the buildout of a centralized data layer to consolidate data from ERP and connected operational systems
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to move and transform data across enterprise platforms
  • Architect integrations between the ERP and third-party platforms (fleet, dispatch, HRIS, safety, vendors) using REST APIs or middleware
  • Implement data quality monitoring and validation controls across pipelines
  • Power BI & Analytics Support the enterprise Power BI environment and help develop reporting structures tied to operational KPIs
  • Partner with operations, finance, and leadership to ensure reporting reflects real-world business workflows
  • Help establish a reliable, well-documented data foundation for enterprise analytics
  • Perform other duties as assigned
