About The Position

Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. Plan, test, and implement upgrades of our information systems. After system changes, you will perform tests and help resolve any user or technical issues. Other functions of this role include scripting or automating certain tasks and processes to increase efficiency.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Systems Administration experience (5-10 years preferred).
• Scripting experience.
• Experience with VMware. Experience and certifications with VMware Horizon (VDI) is preferred.
• Comfortable working with various operating systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Background must demonstrate the ability to take ownership in troubleshooting and solving issues.
• Must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform testing, implementation, and documentation for projects.
• TCP/IP & DNS experience.
• Experience troubleshooting & resolving help desk requests.
• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and cabling issues.

Nice To Haves

• Experience and certifications with VMware Horizon (VDI)

Responsibilities

• Manage and support VMware virtual desktop and Microsoft Windows environments with a focus on high availability and scalability of architectures.
• Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and provide solutions for system issues.
• Configure hardware including firewalls.
• Develop and apply best practices.
• Maintain documentation as required.
• Serve as an escalation point for the IT Help desk which will involve assisting end users with various issues. More complex issues may require in-person support.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
• Serve as technical representative on IT projects or specific IT areas. For example: PC requisitions, equipment inventory, new product rollout, equipment repair process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager.
