Currently, DPRA is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator in our Knoxville, Tennessee office location. This full-time position will oversee the administration, maintenance and security of a distributed IT infrastructure supporting multiple Microsoft 365 tenants and a geographically dispersed workforce. This role is reponsible for managing both on-site and remote environments across multiple locations and time zones, ensuring operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-level security standards. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, service-oriented IT professional with deep Microsoft 365 expertise and experience operating within regulated environments such as CMMC and NIST 800-171.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance (active clearance preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT Security, Computer Science, Information Systems Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of IT Administration experience, including at least three years in a regulated environment (CMMC level 1 or higher, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53) .
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong service orientation and the ability to work independently.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Experience in participating in IT Change Boards and conducting system compliance assessments.
  • Experience drafting SOPs to support IT consistency and audit readiness.
  • Networking – 3+ years of experience with firewalls, switches, and physical security hardware.
  • Prior experience with vendor management, contract negotiations, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
  • At least three years of Microsoft 365 Administration experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer multiple Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Acess Policies; and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Manage identity governance, security policies, and tenant configurations
  • Perform log reviews and monitor system activity to ensure compliance and security integrity
  • Administer physical and virtual servers across distributed environments
  • Manage network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and remote office connectivity
  • Oversee patch managment, vulnerability remedation, and endpoint protection
  • Provide Tier 2/3 escaltion support
  • Support and manage Remote Monitoring & Mangement (RMM) tools
  • Administer VoIP systems
  • Ensure compliance with CMMC Level 1 (or higher), NIST 800-171, and NIST 800-53 (as applicable)
  • Conduct internal system compliance reveiws and assessments
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in IT Change Boards and change managment processes
  • Support audit readiness initiatives
  • Oversee IP-based camera systems
  • Administer badge readers and accesss-control systems
  • Ensure physical security systems interation with cybersecurity policies
  • Work closely with development teams and systems engineers to support development, testing and deployment
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continutiy strategies
  • Assist with vendor managment and contract negotiations
