Your Mission As a Senior Linux System Administrator, you will lead, evolve, and maintain a modern DevOps architecture built on open-source technologies and independent of corporate baselines. Your work will support software developers, system upgrades, compliance requirements, and continuous improvements focused on availability, reliability, latency reduction, performance optimization, and maintaining a strong security posture. You Will Excel in This Role If You Are: A hands-on Linux administrator comfortable working in diverse, complex enclaves Skilled at troubleshooting network, virtualization, and infrastructure issues Proactive in adopting new technologies and identifying system improvements Comfortable interacting with system-savvy developers, analysts, and mission partners Detail-oriented when maintaining documentation and compliance artifacts Able to work independently while supporting a small, fast-paced technical team

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Strong Linux system administration background
  • Experience with network administration, routing protocols, multi-hop troubleshooting, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting secure infrastructure, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and backup/recovery
  • Experience maintaining SSPs, STE/STN requirements, RMF artifacts, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and enclave documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Docker, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch
  • Experience with Ansible, GitLab, or RedHat Satellite
  • Working knowledge of software-defined networks

Responsibilities

  • Designing, maintaining, and supporting O&M activities across an enclave consisting of servers, VMs, managed switches, NAS, VLANs, VPNs, and networked hardware and software components
  • Administering network devices, configuring routing protocols, and troubleshooting multi-hop connectivity, latency, and throughput issues
  • Maintaining secure infrastructure through firewalls, vulnerability remediation, data security, compliance, and backup and recovery processes
  • Maintaining SSPs, STE/STN requirements, RMF documentation, Netseer, SEAR logging, patching, IAVMs, McAfee, and UAM
  • Providing user-level support to developers and analysts and resolving issues across network, computing, and virtual environments
