About The Position

Kiewit's Survey Managers play an integral role in establishing and maintaining methods for a safe, accurate and efficient survey and control on our projects. You will have responsibilities over contractual requirements, design model review and field survey operations, and should plan to spend around 50% of your time in the field observing and instructing the survey operations on the job site. This role requires strong technical expertise in surveying, team leadership, and collaboration with engineering and construction teams to ensure precision and efficiency in all surveying activities. Kiewit's Bridge & Marine District headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, operates with heavy civil, marine, and industrial capabilities across North America. We are a leader in technical and traditional bridges, bridge like structures, marine structures, and dredge work. Kiewit Bridge & Marine is also the foremost constructor of floating bridges across the United States. This position will lead survey on the construction of the Mobile River Bridge in Mobile, AL. Out of region candidates may be eligible for relocation assistance. Requirements

Bachelor's degree is preferred
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification is considered an asset
10+ years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required
Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
Proficiency in using survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors. Experience with survey software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams
Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team
Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee all surveying operations for the construction of Mobile River Bridge, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.
Develop and implement surveying plans, methodologies, and best practices to optimize field data collection and layout. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop survey plans and schedules.
Lead a team of surveyors and field personnel, providing training, mentorship, and technical guidance.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
Utilize advanced surveying technology, including GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones, to capture and analyze data.
Conduct quality control checks to verify survey accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
Manage survey data processing, ensuring integration with project management and BIM software.
Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, logs, and documentation for project records.
Ensure all survey activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all surveying activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve survey-related challenges on-site, adapting to changing project conditions.
