About The Position

Sr. Account Consultant – Contract Surety Supporting Houston Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of contract surety accounts, including new business development and renewal activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique surety bond needs and providing tailored solutions. Collaborate with underwriters to assess risk, determine bond eligibility, and negotiate terms and conditions. Conduct a thorough analysis of client financials to ensure accurate underwriting and rating. Prepare and present surety bond proposals to clients, addressing their specific requirements and provide clear explanations of terms and conditions. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions related to contract surety bonds. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Insurance Account Executives, to provide comprehensive service to clients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including bond information, financials, and communication history. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance and support throughout the bond process and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the surety industry, with a focus on contract surety bonds.
  • Strong knowledge of contract surety underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and bond pricing.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing a portfolio of contract surety accounts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
