As part of the AD Federal Quality organization, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will work with ADI's engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve key supplier issues. The SQE will investigate and resolve supplier issues by non-conformance investigations, utilizing SCARs, conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Master’s degree in engineering or Bachler’s degree in engineering and equivalent experience in electronics manufacturing environment (2+ years)
  • Leadership and effective oral communication across functions of all business units
  • An understanding of quality tools such as, but not limited to: Six Sigma, 8D, 5-Why, FTA, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems: ISO9001, AS9100, and other related systems
  • Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102)
  • Experience with AS9145 APQP/PPAP process for Aerospace
  • Must have strong Engineering skills regarding machining, process flow
  • Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills in difficult/diverse situations; level-headed and articulate to handle interactions with executive management, suppliers and auditors
  • Self-driven/tenacious motivation to acquire knowledge as situations dictate

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Auditor is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee supplier approval process per internal procedures
  • QMS evaluation
  • Perform periodic Supplier QMS and process audits
  • Work with Engineering to develop quality plan for New Product Introduction
  • Develop suppliers that are not ISO Certified
  • Drive supplier improvement including “Zero Defect Philosophy”
  • Monitor incoming failure rates and improve supply chain KPIs
  • Issuing and managing supplier corrective actions as necessary to improve the performance of our suppliers
  • Act as a liaison for customer returns that are found to be supplier related
  • Ensure supplier certifications are kept up-to-date
  • Control and manage the AVL on a quarterly basis
  • Work with the Conflict Minerals team to ensure compliance
  • Facilitate supplier MRB utilizing TRB/Change request
  • Own the supplier ratings/scorecard process
  • Improve and maintain the Supplier Quality Manual
  • Serve as the point of contact person for all supplier related issues
  • Work with Purchasing Org. for supplier risk assessment and supplier performance
  • Work with the incoming inspection dept. to ensure compliance to SCDs including: First Article review Incoming inspection lot accept/reject reports (LAR)
  • Support cross-functional teams regarding supplier PCNs
  • Work with cross-functional team to manage/support supplier obsolescence
