About The Position

Tarana is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to establish a vendor control process and provide timely reports to the MFG team. Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with strong project management, people management, and communication skills will have a hands-on approach to leading the development and implementation of the supplier qualification and monitoring process. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a positive, team-first attitude, leads by example, enjoys sharing knowledge to advance the team, and is willing to learn and master new technologies. The individual will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in science or engineering field is required
  • 5-10+ years of experience in quality systems for device hardware manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process and quality systems principles
  • Proven experience with process validation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience implementing quality systems in contract manufacturing environments
  • Prior experience working with manufacturing partners, including process transfer between plants
  • Ability to build and encourage a culture of teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior wireless and RF experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers, develop and implement quality plans for suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive improvement initiatives to meet or exceed quality targets.
  • Review and feedback on vendor DFM and inspection plans
  • Review first article inspection reports
  • Work with the supplier to resolve quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Developed and maintained a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained.
  • Developed and implemented a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.
