Wabtec Bus Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Performance Engineer to drive on-time delivery (OTD), material availability, and supplier execution performance across a global, high‑mix manufacturing environment. This role focuses on analyzing supplier constraints, orchestrating recovery actions, developing alternate manufacturing pathways, and strengthening supply continuity in support of production and service demand. The ideal candidate is a self‑directed supply chain professional with strong manufacturing process knowledge, supplier‑facing experience, and the ability to influence without authority while collaborating with buyers, engineering, and operations.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, supplier development, manufacturing engineering, or materials management.
  • Demonstrated experience improving delivery performance in complex, global, high‑mix manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, turning, extrusion, casting, injection molding, forging, and assembly.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers on capacity, process improvement, and delivery recovery activities.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, BaaN, or equivalent) and ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier OTD and material availability performance across critical commodities, ensuring adherence to delivery commitments and production schedules.
  • Orchestrate daily shortage management, expediting, and material flow activities in collaboration with Buyers, Production Control, and Operations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and drive alternate manufacturing pathways , including alternate suppliers, processes, routings, or technical solutions in partnership with Engineering.
  • Analyze supplier capacity, performance trends, and constraints; establish recovery plans and follow‑up actions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP (Oracle) tools to validate demand, update planning parameters, and ensure accurate supplier promising visibility.
  • Support buyers with market intelligence, sourcing options, and risk-mitigation insights to improve material readiness and conduct supplier visits to assess capability, validate recovery plans, and support execution of manufacturing or scheduling changes.
