About The Position

As a Senior Supervisor, Production based at Rocket Lab’s site in Albuquerque, New Mexico, you will have the opportunity to direct the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives. In this role you will develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. To be successful in this role, you must prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply as well as plan and administer procedures and budgets. Shift Details: D-Shift: 6:00pm-6:30am Wednesday- Friday and alternating Saturdays

Requirements

  • High school Diploma
  • 10+ years of Production Supervisor experience in production or heavily regulated manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of a semi-conductor cleanroom environment a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, simple financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to read, interpret and correct engineering drawings.
  • Ability to write technical reports and procedure manuals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to identify problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Supervision: Provides direct supervision to non-exempt employees (i.e., operators and technicians, and support personnel).
  • Interaction: Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.
  • Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts workflow to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and team.
  • Analyses and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
