About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented individual, who has the desire to lead and coach a manufacturing team. In this role you will be responsible for product specific build schedule attainment to ensure overall customer success. Additionally, you will provide direction to skilled bargaining unit employees, leading employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts. You will also have the opportunity to manage projects that are critical to our success.

Requirements

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience working with all levels of management and working in a union environment
  • Proven track record in team leadership roles
  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, strong drive and results driven
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

  • Electronic assembly / manufacturing a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all quality related items for multiple cells are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
  • Ensures workforce follows all environmental, health and safety protocols
  • Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Assists in scheduling for multiple cells so that production schedules are met.
  • Assists in sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for cells to optimize productivity.
  • Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of cells to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Monitors cell performance and productivity of cells to maximize productivity.
  • Assists in production innovation, including additive manufacturing, of cells to enhance the cell’s production capabilities.
  • Interfaces with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services.
  • Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function.
  • Delegate effectively to develop personnel and effectively balance the workload
  • Address employee issues/concerns and motivate the workforce to achieve department goals.
