About The Position

BLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking a professional with experienced technical skills in corporate accounting matters with an emphasis on Delaware Investment Holding Companies, including subsidiary set-up management, physical presence establishment and comprehensive accounting and tax planning services.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3-4 years public or private accounting experience with an emphasis on corporate accounting
CPA certification, evidence of working towards certification or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Some supervisory experience and client relations skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of accounting principles, Client Write-Up System software, ProSystems software, Microsoft Office and other programs related to tax planning, depreciation, and accounting

Responsibilities

Monitor receipts, pay incurred expenses and invoices, prepare wire transfers and maintain account balances for corporate bank accounts
Monitor and prepare invoices for royalties and receipt of interest, dividends and royalty payments
Maintain communications with clients, financial institutions and law firms
Reconcile accounts, calculate income/loss, summarize records and post entries to general ledger
Prepare trial balances with supporting financial statements, balance sheets and statements of operations
Prepare and file tax returns, including employment, Delaware franchise tax, Delaware 1902(b) and other federal and state returns, as needed
Prepare materials for board of director meetings and maintain correspondence, statements and other information in client files
