Job Description: The Senior Corporate Accountant will perform the general accounting operations and control and verify completeness and accuracy of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and reviewing work of accounting staff. Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and internal controls and applying knowledge of accounting principles to analyze and prepare financial data.

Requirements

  • Skills in use of financial analysis software
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and application of financial and accounting principles
  • Knowledge of computer modeling and financial forecasting
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to tackle complex and critical issues
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage executive leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge in corporate accounting and finance principles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-6 years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or equivalent industry experience
  • Exceptional computer skills; expertise with MS Office (specifically Excel)
  • Experience with SAP or comparable ERP system
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time restraints

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Post general ledger transactions and adjustments in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform maintenance of general ledger accounts
  • Perform timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial close tasks to ensure proper cut-off for assets, liabilities, and expenses
  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations and follow-up on any unusual items
  • Maintain appropriate accounting controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and compliance with SOX
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors on financial audits and internal controls testing
  • Interpret and provide recommendations on complex transactions and prepare detailed accounting schedules and financial analysis
  • Work with cross-functional organizations to accomplish tasks by coordinating information requirements
  • Develop and present financial data to senior management
