About The Position

Pilgrim’s is searching for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting/Financial Reporting team at our headquarters in Greeley, Colorado.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting major preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience from either public accounting (audit) or industry in corporate setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with various levels of management (plant personnel, corporate, executive management, investment banking community, brokers, treasury, etc.) and external auditors
  • General ledger knowledge in consolidation accounting including eliminations and foreign currency translation
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Strong US GAAP reporting knowledge, including financial statement preparation and review
  • IFRS reporting knowledge a plus
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Adequately skilled in MS Excel (i.e. ability to create complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and ad hoc report building with data from various systems
  • Quick learner and able to complete responsibilities independently with high degree of accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of SEC filings on Forms 10-Q and K including financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Preparation and review of corporate journal entries and account reconciliations in a large, complex and fast-paced organization (intercompany transactions, IFRS-to-GAAP adjustments, purchase accounting adjustments, pension, etc.)
  • Month-end ledger closing process – coordinating with global business partners to consolidate and close books timely and accurately
  • Data accumulation/analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure timely financial reporting
  • Review subsidiary trial balances and other financial reporting schedules and consolidate with parent
  • Assist with documentation and analysis for quarterly reviews and audits
  • Mentor and assist with training of other Corporate Accountants
  • Design and develop ad hoc reporting for management, finance leadership, and other business partners
  • Other duties as assigned
