About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Subsector Manager for our Cities and Places sector to join our growing team as we continue to win more work throughout the US and the World! Preference to locations in key AtkinsRéalis hub offices, although other locations within the United States may be considered. Your role Under general direction of the Building and Places Market Lead, wins and manages large, complex projects and programs for significant municipal clients. May involve the management of multiple projects simultaneously. Work will involve master planning for federal, state, regional, and local governments, as well as private organizations in the United States and for its worldwide partners. Projects will primarily include work related to master planning, programming, urban design, and land development planning. The person in this position will have the latitude and ability to help shape our future direction, implement ideas, and grow the business. The person in this position assumes a management and/or senior technical role on urban planning and programming, and related projects.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Architecture, or a related field. Master's or graduate level, technical coursework is preferred.
  • 20 years of experience since B.S., with at least five of these years in a senior operating management position.
  • Extensive urban planning and mixed use environment experience is strongly desired.
  • Professional registration in field of practice is desired or required where applicable (e.g., AICP, PE,)

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors annual and strategic marketing plans for targeted projects and participates in the development of Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborates with our Multi Market Solutions delivery teams to identify and pursue a pipeline of potential urban planning project/program opportunities in one or more AtkinsRéalis US regions: Central (primarily Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio) Northeast (primarily Philadelphia, New York) Mid-Atlantic (primarily Washington, D.C. and Charlotte, NC) West (primarily Denver, Las Vegas/Henderson, Los Angeles)
  • Coordinates with David Evans and Associates on land development opportunities and delivery.
  • Leads large urban program and non-engineer pursuits and projects (e.g. urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture) as project director or principal in charge.
  • Develops and maintains client relationships
  • Serves as primary project interface for clients, reporting to Senior Program Manager on larger programs
  • Oversees subsector and project financial performance ensuring sustainable margins and profitability.
  • Manages and develops the cities and places subsector staff.
  • Maintains visibility by actively participating in professional and industry organizations and interacting with key clients.
  • Travel expectations for this position average about 50%
