This position offers the opportunity to work on bridge and transportation-related projects , while also gaining exposure to a broad range of structural engineering work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This role offers hands-on experience and direct mentorship from senior engineers, with the opportunity to see projects through from initial investigation and design to construction. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering
- 7-15 years of related experience
- NY PE required
- Understanding and application of code requirements
- Experience in using various structural analysis software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- AutoCad experience a requirement
Nice To Haves
- NJ PE is a plus
- Bridge inspection experience and certification is a plus
- Prior experience with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NJDOT standards is a plus
- Revit is a plus
- Interest in developing a well-rounded structural engineering skill set
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design for bridge and transportation-related structures
- Primary duties will be related bridge structural design and inspection, but seeking versatile engineer with broad structural engineering interests
- Serve as the lead designer on simple to moderately complex assignments
- Assist in site investigations to document existing conditions, including bridge inspection
- Perform site inspections for work engineered by our office
- Complete and review design calculations; assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications
- Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
- Coordinate work product with other in-house engineering staff and architects
