We’re seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead and contribute to the design, analysis, detailing, and quality assurance of diverse building projects. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience across the full project lifecycle and excels at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure structural designs meet quality standards, applicable codes, and client expectations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (any state)
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design for building projects
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar)
  • Advanced knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods
  • Thorough understanding of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide technical direction
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound engineering judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing interaction
  • As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design, analysis, and modeling of building systems using industry-standard software and tools
  • Develop and review structural systems including foundations, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood framing
  • Serve as Engineer of Record, preparing, reviewing, and sealing construction documents as required
  • Provide senior-level technical oversight and quality assurance for structural calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform and oversee field inspections, job site visits, and inspection reports on a periodic basis as needed
  • Maintain and foster relationships with existing clients, ensuring all project requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal departments to ensure structural feasibility, constructability, and compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor, train, and foster the professional growth of junior engineers and design staff
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical reviews as needed
