The Opportunity Our Energy Intelligence and Analysis team is expanding to help support the growth and strategic vision of TC Energy’s Natural Gas Pipeline business. We’re seeking a Senior Strategy Analyst to join our team of Energy Problem Solvers and translate gas market fundamentals into clear, actionable strategy. The role combines strong analytical skills with commercial insight, striking the balance between big picture thinking and attention to detail. You will also stay ahead of emerging industry developments as well as respond to ad hoc requests from a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external. Through research and critical analysis, you’ll help drive smarter, faster decisions. Your insights will help shape the strategy of TC Energy’s Natural Gas Pipelines business, with regular exposure to TC’ senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Economics or Business is preferred, other related disciplines are welcome.
  • 5-10 years of industry related experience, prior experience as an analyst is an asset
  • An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge of energy and natural gas-focused data services (e.g. S&P Global, Wood Mackenzie, Enverus, Rystad, EIA).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with strong conceptual thinking and the ability to construct narratives concerning the meaningful opportunities and challenges facing our business.
  • Demonstrated expertise of US natural gas market fundamentals and pipeline infrastructure.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills to balance competing priorities and reach outcomes that maximize value to the organization.
  • A demonstrated interest in the energy sector with a command of current events related to natural gas markets, policy, regulation, financial markets, emerging technology, and macroeconomics.
  • Working experience managing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Team player; demonstrates effective collaborative working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate how evolving market conditions, commercial structures, and peer landscape impact the strategy and competitive position of TC Energy’s Natural Gas Pipeline assets.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of US gas markets, including supply-demand dynamics, pipeline flows, price trends and regulatory changes.
  • Synthesize analysis into actionable intelligence to support strategic planning for TC Energy’s Natural Gas Pipelines business.
  • Deliver findings and strategic recommendations to TC Energy’s senior/executive leadership.
  • Contribute to the development and structuring of a central repository of data and strategic analysis from several internal and external sources of market and operational information.
  • Interact regularly with internal stakeholders to communicate and disseminate analysis and related data, which will include development and delivery of presentations and management reports.
