This position works Monday- Friday, standard daylight hours. This is a hybrid position with 1-2 days per week required in office. Purpose: The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of UPMC, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager (Sr. SSM) will maintain and direct sourcing functions for assigned spend categories across UPMC supply chain and includes the following objectives: drive and deliver competitive advantage and cost savings for UPMC by managing the execution of a comprehensive category approach that includes in-depth global market analysis as part of the overall detailed strategic sourcing plan, establish a strategic category group structure and corresponding category strategies. Serves a key role in planning, managing, and measuring sourcing engagements and takes lead in working with organizational leadership on priority objectives to meet strategic priorities. This position is responsible for leading the respective sourcing team with a focus on helping the company meet enterprise-wide objectives, reduce risk, and deliver substantial cost savings. Responsibilities include managing, supervising, planning, and organizing the activities of the sourcing staff. Additionally, this role will be responsible to source for key business areas or product category. A primary objective will be to work collaboratively with internal UPMC leaders to capture business requirements, provide in-depth market analysis, and develop sourcing strategies and plans to deliver best in class value to the organization. The Sourcing to Pay Departmental mission is to ensure the preservation and improvement of the quality of patient care while reducing or maintaining costs and risks related to the procurement and the use of products and services at all UPMC business units and facilities through collaborative efforts and effective communication by a mode of service line steering teams and specialty sub-committees.
