About The Position

As a Sr. State Manager, you are responsible for articulating Bacardi’s vision and roadmap in California Chains through the development and execution of market strategy to achieve maximum performance with distributor management and relationship building with strategic accounts. You will lead, guide, and develop a successful sales team to drive results through actionable strategies, plans, and programs. You will serve as the primary contact for distributor leadership and partners, and lead business management. You will have direct responsibilities for all retail chains, working with distributor sales teams and NRS to grow KPIs. You are a fearless leader who consistently puts forward a Do The Right Thing mentality for Bacardi brands, brokers, distributors, customers, and consumers. You are a cultivator of strategic partnerships and a developer of people to achieve goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related area.
  • Ability to create, maintain and build long lasting relationships with key accounts, distributors, vendors & cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of performance and delivery against KPI’s and annual goals & targets
  • Demonstrate exceptional financial acumen and decision making to achieve results.
  • Influential and excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills while also being relaxed giving presentations in front of small groups of people including executives, distributor partners, Bacardi primos, vendors and customers (both internal and external) at all levels of an organization.
  • Computer proficient working in MS Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and can use advanced computer functions, including navigating the Internet

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years field sales experience, preferably in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry.
  • Supervisory/management experience and positive track record of developing winning teams.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and implement Bacardi’s vision into actionable strategies across CA Chain accounts, partnering closely with sales teams, distributor partners, and customers to drive execution and results.
  • Cultivate a results-driven culture within the CA Chains team that encourages open dialogue, diverse perspectives, and accountability to deliver results against team goals, timelines, and key deliverables while proactively removing workflow barriers to optimize performance.
  • Partner with the Regional Director and Human Resources to recruit, onboard, and develop top-performing primos, leading meaningful Let’s Talk discussions that provide clear performance feedback against chain sales forecasts and KPI targets while supporting individual career development.
  • Lead and strengthen distributor and customer partnerships across CA Chain accounts, delivering compelling business plans, solutions, and brand insights to senior-level stakeholders while evaluating performance against aligned chain-specific goals and KPIs.
  • Establish and manage performance goals with distributors and key chain customers through structured monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews to ensure alignment to volume, distribution, and execution priorities.
  • Take accountability and full ownership of your state’s P&L and produce effective forecasting to increase profitability and demonstrate a strong understanding of chain economics and value chain dynamics
