The Senior Staff, Solution Architect Business Applications is responsible for focusing on designing, optimizing, and overseeing the architectural landscape of our commercial applications. This position is central to evolving our CRM and related platforms to strategically enable Beckman Coulter Diagnostics' customer relationship management, sales, service, web and marketing objectives. You will lead the definition of technical strategies, architectural patterns, and best practices that drive commercial success. This position is part of the CRM DevOps reporting to Sr Manager Business Applications responsible for supporting the Commercial applications for the Quote-to-Cash, Service, Sales, Web and Marketing business functions located in Brea, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Collaborate closely with business functions, including Service, Sales, Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ), Web and Marketing, to deeply understand strategic business objectives, ongoing maintenance needs, enhancement requests, and project requirements to translate them into robust architectural solutions. Define, design, and architect scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that leverage out-of-the-box functionality or custom applications within our CRM and commercial platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Architect and oversee the design of complex integrations between commercial applications (CRM) and enterprise systems such as Oracle ERP and other cloud applications, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in commercial application platforms (e.g., Salesforce), cloud solutions, and user experience design, incorporating industry-standard, intuitive, and easy-to-use interfaces into architectural recommendations. Provide architectural guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to software engineering best practices, design control processes, and the successful delivery of solutions for multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • 14+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with a significant focus on architecting and supporting large-scale commercial applications.
  • 12+ years of experience with architectural design, implementation, and governance on the Salesforce platform, or similar enterprise CRM systems.
  • Deep technical understanding and architectural experience with technologies such as Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, XML, REST API, Java, JavaScript, and other relevant web technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Architecting solutions involving DevOps tools and practices (e.g., JIRA, SVN, Jenkins, Selenium) and scripting languages like Python.
  • Designing and implementing integrations using tools such as Informatica, Oracle SOA, and SOAP & REST APIs.
  • Architectural experience with ServiceMax, Oracle ERP, and strong SQL/PLSQL skills.
  • Working in a Global, multifunctional, fast-paced, and leadership-oriented environment.
