About The Position

At SentinelOne, we’re transforming the developer platform to offer a unified developer experience. To help us achieve that, we’re seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for a new key role that will drive this transformation and define the next generation of our platform. This is a high-impact role, where you’ll undertake an ambitious initiative to design and implement secure, scalable, reliable Developer Platform APIs built using modern technologies and approaches. This Developer Platform sits on top of our Infrastructure Platform, and its APIs must provide both a unified, customer-friendly developer experience and internal infrastructure service protection. You’ll need strong experience with Developer Platform fundamentals, including designing and developing infrastructure platform services that enable scalability, efficiency, and ease of use for internal developers. You should also bring deep proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and tools at a large scale, as this role will shape how services are built, deployed, and managed across SentinelOne. Strong ownership – In this role, you will work with multiple engineering and PM leaders and teams across the SentinelOne engineering organization on this re-architecture. You’ll deal with the scale of globally deployed platform services across 6 AWS/GCP regions that altogether process petabytes of data daily and hundreds of billions of events from tens of millions of endpoints we protect at our enterprise & public sector clients across the globe, including 4 of the Fortune 10 and hundreds of Global 2000 companies. Requirements

  • Extensive software engineering experience, including proven expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Expertise in Developer Platform fundamentals and infrastructure platform services design.
  • Deep proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins) in large-scale environments.
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Go; experience with Python is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ownership and accountability, with proven experience driving large, impactful projects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts and influence engineering direction across teams, departments, and stakeholders in multiple time zones.

  • Architect the Future: Dive deep into our current developer platform, identify pain points, and design innovative solutions to address them in an iterative way toward a shared vision.
  • Lead the design and development of a new architecture that supports scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
  • Modernize the Stack: Collaborate with teams to evaluate and implement the right tools, frameworks, and methodologies for building a robust, user-centric developer platform.
  • Hands-on Development: Write high-quality, production-ready code.
  • Mentor and Lead: Guide and mentor other engineers, contribute to their professional growth, share best practices and architectural insights, and foster a culture of engineering excellence. Your involvement enhances the overall quality, whether you wrote it directly, reviewed it, or contributed to its design.
  • Collaborate Across Teams and Orgs: Partner with engineering, product, design, quality, DevOps/Infra teams, and leadership to align on objectives, design, timelines, and execution strategies.
