About The Position

TrueAero is a rapidly growing, global Aviation company that supports Airlines, MROs, Aircraft Leasing Companies and Financial Institutions worldwide through the purchase, leasing and management of commercial aircraft & engines, and the sourcing and supply of commercial aviation airframe & engine parts and components. The Senior Accountant is a member of the Finance & Accounting department primarily responsible for all accounting aspects of the TrueAero Group companies on the leasing side. In doing so, the Senior Accountant applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations and appropriate judgment to maintain accurate accounting records, prepare tax returns, financial statements and analysis. The Senior Accountant also assists with special projects, elaborate tax schedules, prepare reports and analysis to support the annual audit process and setup/maintain systems in support of accounting activities and financial statements preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 7+plus of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving working environment.
  • Previous experience successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • MAcc or MBA is a plus
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry and full financial audit highly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a key stakeholder in ERP implementation is a plus.
  • Previous experience with lease accounting is preferred.
  • Previous experience with FP&A software is preferred (e.g. Adaptive Planning, Vena, Cube, Datarails, Hyperion, or other planning, consolidation and reporting tools).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting and prepare financial statements of multiple TrueAero Group companies.
  • Carry on daily accounting activities in preparation of financial statements including, but not limited to, recording accounting transactions, preparing accruals, tracking fixed assets and depreciation of aircrafts/engines, processing journal entries and performing detailed GL account reconciliations.
  • Adhere to month-end financial closing.
  • Track and reconcile billable expenses and billback lessees, lessors, and affiliated companies as applicable.
  • Conduct monthly projects reconciliation.
  • Prepare schedules and detailed explanations to fulfill the annual financial audit requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Track revenues and expenses by cost centers on a monthly basis.
  • Reports performance on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare forecasts and support the annual budget cycle.
  • Reports variances to budget monthly.
  • Maintain and publish databases of financial information.
  • Review and submit preliminary financial statements for controller’s review and approval.
  • Support the implementation and further development of systems, with special focus on efficiency and internal controls.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies & procedures.
  • Perform other ad-hoc activities as requested.
