About The Position

Our client, a well-established and growing privately held organization with multi-location operations across the United States, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant (CPA) to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle, working closely with leadership, and contributing to the financial health of a dynamic, service-oriented business. Position Summary The Staff Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This individual will partner closely with the Controller and finance leadership to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys both tactical accounting execution and process improvement.

Requirements

  • Active CPA license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, analysis)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Industry and/or public accounting background welcome
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Dynamics, NetSuite, Sage, or similar preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage general ledger activity across multiple entities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and adjustments
  • Perform monthly bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reporting packages
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation
  • Support accounts payable and expense coding accuracy
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation (PBC schedules)
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to resolve accounting issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies
