Senior Staff Accountant
About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. In this role, you’ll contribute across a wide range of accounting functions while supporting financial operations for CUAnswers, its partners, and Accounting Services clients. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and analysis, and helping guide the daily work of staff accountants. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance, making this an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership-support role with meaningful impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience (4+ years in accounting)
- Proven accounting experience (AP/AR, GL, reconciliations, reporting)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Experience with Microsoft GP or Microsoft Business Central is Required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Professional discretion when handling confidential financial information

Responsibilities
- Perform core accounting functions including: Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), Client billing, General ledger entries and account reconciliations, Bank transactions and deposits
- Support month-end close, including financial reporting and variance analysis
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting preparation
- Help oversee and guide staff accountants by: Supporting daily, weekly, and monthly workflows, Ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
- Organize and manage incoming financial documentation: Billing support and invoices across multiple entities
- Research and respond to inquiries from clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of accounting procedures and policies
- Collaborate with the Accounting Team and contribute to monthly meetings and reporting
