About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance department in producing accurate, timely, and compliant financial records for the organization. This role reports directly to the Controller and CFO and plays a critical part in maintaining strong accounting processes and internal controls. This position is ideal for someone who not only has a solid accounting foundation, but also aspires to grow into a leadership role.   • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Required
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills required

  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring a timely, complete, and accurate month-end close process in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Prepare, review, and properly document general journal entries
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements as part of month-end close
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts
  • Prepare accounting-related entries for various registers, journals, and logs
  • Analyze, verify, import, and export large volumes of data using Excel; continuously learn new functions to improve efficiency
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and respond to accounting inquiries by researching and interpreting transactional data
  • Assist with preparation of documentation for external auditors
  • Support the Controller in preparing financial statements and internal reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental standards
  • Maintain and balance the automated consolidation system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs, and verifying results
  • Analyze existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements or enhancements
  • Learn and consistently follow established company accounting policies and procedures
  • Protect company value by maintaining strict confidentiality of financial information
  • Participate in special projects and other financial initiatives as assigned by the Controller or CFO
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Show the ability and desire to grow into increased responsibility over time
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to strengthen accounting processes and controls
  • Serve as a potential future leader within the accounting and finance team as the company continues to expand
