Workplace Services Business Unit Risk serves as a first line risk management team that supports the overall operations of Retirement Plan Services (RPS), Stock Plan Services (SPS), Designated Brokerage Services (DBS), and Retirement Business Services (RBS) from a control and governance perspective. We provide partners assistance with mitigating risk, minimizing errors, promoting operational efficiencies and complying with policies and procedures. The Workplace Business Unit Risk Senior Specialist will be responsible for owning and supporting oversight and control type functions to assist in identifying, assessing, reporting, and monitoring both existing and emerging risks. This is an individual contributor role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a risk management role or strong transferable skillset and experience
  • Ability to work independently or under general direction and proactively participate in determining objectives or action plans
  • Ability to complete tasks within an established deadline while providing consistent updates to manager
  • Effective critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail while keeping a holistic approach
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the appropriate sense of urgency and a proactive approach
  • Solid business acumen, flexibility, and judgment to evaluate issues/problems of high complexity and make sound decisions
  • Experience communicating effectively to business partners and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own and support day to day oversight and control functions, such as, daily review of external communications, risk documentation, loss reconciliation and metric reporting.
  • Provide consultation and support to the business as needed, and proactively drive the culture of risk management
  • Identify areas of process and control weakness, make recommendations, and drive implementation.
  • Participate in projects to enhance processes and strengthen the risk management environment within the business
  • Participate in, and/or lead other centralized projects or initiatives, as required.
