About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Review Team will review and assess clients’ compliance with program requirements. Make recommendations for registration and/or licensing and manage project(s) to improve the certifications programs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.
  • Broad understanding of petroleum industry operations including knowledge of exploration and production operations, the oil refining industry, oil and gas pipeline operations, and petroleum measurement.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and API Spec Q1 and/or API Specifications.
  • Ability to learn and understand environmental principles including environmental terminology, techniques for evaluating aspects and impacts and their environmental significance, environmental performance evaluation and legal and other requirements.
  • Ability to research and assimilate information accurately from a variety of sources.
  • Expert with Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel, Access and SharePoint, with an aptitude to learn other computer programs quickly.
  • Ability to effectively manage simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to acquire technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and workflow coordination.
  • Customer service aptitude.
  • Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a global environment and possession of an understanding of different cultures.
  • Ability to comprehend, address and resolve non-routine inquiries and program-related issues.
  • Ability to understand and apply technical requirements as they relate to mechanical equipment and oil and gas industry products and services.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment, operate with latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions, and resolve problems without assistance when appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in engineering or other scientific discipline or a related technical environment preferred.
  • Successful completion of the ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training Course and ISO 14001 Auditing Course preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process Program actions as required:
  • Review reports and changes (scope) to client’s registration(s) and/or license(s).
  • Review client’s responses to nonconformities, including understanding and assessing corrections, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Make recommendations for granting, maintaining, modifying, suspending or cancelling registrations/licenses and changes (scope) based on the result of the review.
  • Prepare action letters for granting, maintaining, modifying, suspending or cancelling registrations/licenses.
  • Peer review (seconding) of program actions completed by other team members.
  • Participate in Registration/Licensing Committee decision-making (LRC).
  • Provide additional guidance to contractors when needed.
  • Maintain client records.
  • Interact directly with clients and contractors on issues related to program activities.
  • Market program activities, when needed.
  • Attend industry-related trade shows and events, when required.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the API Monogram Program/APIQR Director.
  • Provide support as needed with the administration of Departmental projects including, but not limited to, documentation of processes, implementation of corrective actions from audits (internal and ANAB) and resolution of complaints.
