About The Position

Avid Core is seeking a Senior Specialist, Governance with strong program management and communications experience to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) governance and international operations. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional passionate about improving how federal programs operate through structured governance frameworks, accountability tools, and stakeholder engagement. The position offers hybrid work flexibility (3-4 days in office), working from a home location and client location with the expectation of attending meetings at the client site in Washington, D.C. as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program management or governance support experience supporting a Federal Agency
  • Demonstrated experience developing governance documentation, templates, and operational reporting products
  • Proficiency with the full Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint), with emphasis on SharePoint administration and dashboard development
  • Exceptional editing and data analysis skills to ensure deliverables are accurate and error-free
  • Experience with WebEx, Zoom, and other virtual meeting platforms
  • Ability to obtain public trust security clearance
  • Interested in working with law enforcement and border security agencies
  • Able to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Skilled at managing and following up on action items, identifying process gaps, and recommending solutions
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and proactive

Nice To Haves

  • CBP Public Trust Clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates, agenda and notes templates, fact sheets, and 101 briefings to support CBP governance leadership bodies.
  • Support governance-related communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and decision execution across CBP components
  • Refine and maintain the ILC SharePoint as a centralized repository for governance-related documents and resources
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflows and collaboration across CBP components
  • Develop and manage tools—such as dashboards and trackers—to monitor deliverables and action items for accountability and traceability
  • Conduct regular assessments of resource impacts and adjust schedules or deliverables based on program needs
  • Collect, synthesize, and report on lessons learned and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate between directorates and program teams to promote operational efficiency and adherence to agency best practices
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between divisions to ensure strategic goals and governance initiatives are met
  • Contribute to the development of governance deliverables, including work plans, standard operating procedures, and meeting records
  • Actively engage in problem-solving, risk identification, and mitigation as governance processes evolve
  • Provides input and recommendations to develop, refine, and improve governance policies and processes in coordination with client leadership
  • Supports senior leadership’s participation in governance forums, working groups, and interagency engagements
  • Completes other duties as assigned
