About The Position

The Harvard Conference Center is seeking an experienced Senior Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations for high‑volume conferences, banquets, and special events. This role combines hands‑on culinary excellence with team leadership and operational oversight.

Requirements

  • 5 years culinary experience
  • Strong leadership skills and proficiency in classical & modern techniques
  • Experience in high‑volume or banquet-style operations
  • Flexible schedule, including nights/weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production, service, and event execution
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff; assist with scheduling and labor management
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and recipe accuracy
  • Support menu planning, tasting, and seasonal updates
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and cost control
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
