The Senior Sourcing Manager is the most senior Sourcing expert in the organization and manages the most complex projects, or the category with the most spend or most complex supply market. The Senior Sourcing Manager executes strategic sourcing and value creation initiatives based on opportunities identified by the Director and /or the Category Managers and optimizes productivity, savings & working capital for their categories. They work with cross-functional teams to implement Director / Category Manager category plan and negotiate contracts with BFS suppliers to support BFS business growth and profitability. He can also manage one or several sourcing managers driving their work, development, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field;
  • 5-10 years purchasing and negotiation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Special knowledge required: SAP/S4 experience, building materials products and distribution methods.

Responsibilities

  • Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Reviews the list of opportunities (book of work or sourcing plan) identified by the Director or the Category Manager, to prioritize them.
  • Identifies stakeholders to be involved in the projects listed in Director / Category Manager sourcing plan / book of work and prepares project planning
  • Monitors with the Director or the Category Manager project progresses, timelines, alignment with category strategy, and risks, and prepare remedial action plans if needed.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to define requirements, specifications, and selection criteria for RFx preparation.
  • Adjusts sourcing project scope and activities as needed, ensuring alignment with business and Field needs or priorities.
  • Supports Sourcing Managers reporting to him /her in the above activities for their own projects.
  • Sourcing Strategy & Execution
  • Defines appropriate sourcing strategies for each project based on spend analysis, market trends, potential vendors, and BFS market positioning.
  • Prepares and launches RFx projects, analyzes supplier proposals, conducts negotiations, and manages contract/MSA execution.
  • Leads supplier negotiations on pricing, terms, flow of goods, returns, rebates, volume allowances, and promotional funding, ensuring cost efficiency and value creation.
  • Can be involved in sourcing managers negotiation to provide guidance, expertise, or heavier hierarchical weight into supplier discussions.
  • Involves whenever needed the Director or the Category Managers in critical or sensitives supplier negotiations to fully achieve Category Strategy objectives.
  • Oversees the execution of value creation projects, including supplier development, innovation, and supply chain optimization.
  • Supports Sourcing Managers reporting to him /her in their sourcing strategy and execution activities.
  • Contract & Procurement Implementation
  • Ensures contracts are properly implemented in systems, with the FCS P2P tower team, and within business operations and that price, rebate accruals, and supplier agreements are updated in timely manner in procurement systems.
  • Measures contract utilization, identifies improvement areas, and works with the Director or the Category Manager, the FCS P2P tower team, and the Field to optimize compliance.
  • Participates to periodical supply planning meeting to understand supply recommendations and address any sourcing requirement decided through these meetings.
  • Supports Sourcing Managers reporting to him /her in their contract and procurement activities.
  • Performance Tracking & Communication
  • Can be involved in suppliers issue resolution regarding pricing, quality, and service-related issues. In that case, works closely with suppliers to identify the best solution or outcome for BFS in line with the Director / Category Manager directions.
  • Reviews sourcing KPIs, track fiscal year targets, and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensures clear, concise, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding sourcing activities.
  • Ensure Sourcing Managers solves their projects and suppliers related issues in timely manner and in line with Director, Category Manager, and Business direction and expectations
  • Review Sourcing Managers KPIs and fiscal year target achievement to ensure proper realization. Provides guidance and supports in remedial action plans whenever needed.
  • Process Compliance & Improvement
  • Ensures procurement activities comply with contracts, market share allocations, and volume discount agreements for his / her own projects and the ones of his / her team.
  • Maintains accurate sourcing records, including purchase agreements, cost changes, and supplier communications for his / her own projects and the ones of his / her team.
  • Identifies with CoE Global Process owners and Director / Category manager process improvements to enhance sourcing efficiency and turn-around time.
  • Encourages Sourcing Managers to identify process and technology improvement opportunities.
  • Leadership & Performance Management
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing sourcing managers, ensuring they are equipped to drive strategic sourcing initiatives and value creation projects aligned with Category Plans and business expectations.
  • Monitors team performance and engagement, addressing development needs in collaboration with a Director or a Category Manager.
  • Supervises one or several Sourcing Managers and or Commodity Procurement Managers and holds responsibilities including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.

  • In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company’s active bonus policy for the respective year.
