About The Position

Senior Sourcing Manager Curtiss-Wright’s Sensors and Actuation Division in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager to lead procurement operations within a highly technical, engineered products environment. This role is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, optimizing supplier performance, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials and services to support production and new product development. The Senior Sourcing Manager will play a key leadership role, partnering cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, planning, and quality teams, while developing and mentoring a high-performing purchasing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience in a manufacturing or engineered products environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing purchasing teams.
  • Strong background in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, cost structures, and make-versus-buy decision processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost/price analysis and market trend evaluation.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing and commodity strategies aligned with Curtiss-Wright’s operational and financial objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of buyers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive supplier selection, qualification, and performance management, including supplier audits and site visits.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supplier partnerships to achieve best value, quality, and delivery.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives, including value engineering, make-versus-buy analysis, and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor market conditions, supply risks, and pricing trends to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new product introductions and ongoing production needs.
  • Oversee resolution of supplier-related issues including quality concerns, delivery delays, claims, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Establish, track, and report on key procurement metrics (cost savings, supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory levels).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards, particularly within aerospace/defense environments (if applicable).
