About The Position

Atempo is expanding fast in North America and as our customer base grows, we’re looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer who can bring deep technical credibility to the table. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role that sits at the intersection of sales, product, and delivery; helping enterprises design, validate, and implement solutions that move and protect massive amounts of unstructured data. You’ll work directly with enterprise storage teams, cloud architects, and partner engineers from companies like HPE, Qumulo, and DDN, helping them design and deploy resilient data-management architectures using Atempo’s Miria platform for large-scale migration, backup and archive of PB’s of unstructured data. In addition, you’ll work with some of the largest clients in the US, ranging from Fortune 100s, the biggest healthcare systems in the two major government agencies. ATEMPO is a European leader in the world of Enterprise archiving, backup, and migration of PB’s of unstructured data. We partner with some of the world’s most important organizations to make sure their unstructured data is never at risk. From bulletproof disaster recovery plans to creating living archives of their most valuable asset, their data, we help customers unlock security, continuity, and future value as AI transforms what’s possible.

Requirements

• 5+ years in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical consulting for enterprise software or infrastructure.
• Proven success leading Proofs of Concept (POCs) and technical validations in complex, large-scale environments.
• Deep expertise in storage, backup, and data-management architectures across file, block, and object systems.
• Strong familiarity with Linux, Windows, APIs, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with HPC, Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, or Research data environments.
• Background working with system integrators, OEMs, or channel partners.
• Familiarity with tools like Rsync, Robocopy, object gateways, and performance tuning in large-scale file systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and Channel Teams to define technical strategies for enterprise accounts.
• Lead discovery sessions to understand infrastructure, bottlenecks, and data-management workflows.
• Design and deliver technical demos and Proofs of Concept (POCs) that showcase how Atempo solves real problems in complex environments.
• Build solution architectures that integrate with storage systems (Isilon, Qumulo, HPE, NetApp), clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), and existing backup or migration frameworks.
• Validate scalability and performance across petabyte-scale environments.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to provide customer feedback and help shape roadmap priorities.
• Support deployment teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to production.
• Act as the technical voice of the customer inside Atempo, advocating for what really matters in the field.
