About The Position

As a Senior Solution Engineer for Strategic Partnerships, you are the technical bridge between Placer.ai’s world-class location intelligence and the complex ecosystems of our most vital partners. You won’t just support deals; you will ideate them. From prototyping 'first-of-its-kind' integrations to running rigorous data validations for public sector giants, you are the technical visionary who proves the value of our data and builds the blueprint for how it lives within a partner’s workflow. The Senior Solutions Engineer role is essential with delivering compelling product demonstrations, supporting enterprise-level Proof of Concepts, and ultimately driving successful business closures. We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and creative individual, experienced in client / partners facing communication delivery and hands on data analysis, who enjoys solving real world problems and has a passion for correlating product innovations to client requirements and market trends.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years of experience working in a sales support role, such as Solution Engineer
  • 5+ years experience working in a SaaS company
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience -- proficient in at least one of: Esri, GIS tools, Python, R, Tableau Power BI, google data studio and similar BI tools. Proficiency in multiple is a bonus.
  • Domain knowledge of and expertise on the Esri platform is highly desirable.
  • High level of knowledge in Statistics (familiarity with data science language and concepts is a bonus)
  • 5+ years of experience in client facing roles
  • Data analytics Skills, including proficiency in data analysis tools (at least one of the following: R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Data Studio or similar BI tools)
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills & experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Data Intuition: A passion for data storytelling and the ability to find "the needle in the haystack" that makes a customer say "Aha!"
  • Consultative Mindset: You are a problem-solver who prioritizes active listening and thorough discovery of partner needs.
  • Technical Literacy: Comfortable discussing data delivery (CSV, API, Snowflake) and how Placer fits into a modern business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prototyping & Ideation: Envision and build high-impact technical prototypes that demonstrate the power of Placer’s data within a partner’s unique environment.
  • Technical Integration: Lead the end-to-end technical design of new partnerships, defining everything from data schemas and freshness requirements to API protocols and secure delivery at scale.
  • Technical Diplomacy: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for partner engineering teams, navigating complex security reviews and architectural hurdles to keep high-value deals moving toward execution.
  • Lead Technical Validation: Execute bespoke demos, POCs, and data trials to secure the technical win for strategic accounts.
  • Translate Value: Convert complex discovery insights into ROI-focused narratives for executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Partner on Strategy: Collaborate with Sales on account planning and technical strategy for high-contract-value opportunities.
  • Prove Utility: Validate Placer’s data accuracy and methodology against the customer's specific business environment.
  • Drive Enablement: Transition post-sale to empowering customers to independently achieve and showcase their own wins.
  • Drive growth and innovation in Placer- Initiate internal discussion around key features that can be added to the Placer product roadmap.
