About The Position

Ellucian’s Solutions Consulting organization is seeking a Senior Solutions Consultant with deep Banner Student experience and a strong understanding of the end-to-end student lifecycle, ideally complemented by exposure to Banner Finance. This role operates within a capability-based presales model, where Solutions Consultants partner closely with Strategic Business Advisors and Professional Services to deliver confident, delivery-ready presales engagement. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and functional subject matter expert, helping institutions envision how Ellucian Student and related capabilities enable student success while aligning early conversations to realistic delivery and change outcomes. You will be part of a team that owns opportunities end-to-end — from early discovery and demonstration through a clean handoff to implementation — ensuring continuity, clarity, and reduced risk throughout the sales cycle. This is not a demo-only role. It is a position for someone who can combine deep functional credibility with thoughtful discovery, disciplined scoping, and clear value articulation in a SaaS environment. Your expertise will directly influence discovery quality, solution alignment, and customer confidence, helping institutions modernize with minimal disruption and reinforcing Ellucian’s reputation for offering the most advanced ERP, SIS, and AI-driven solution to power innovation for higher education.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in higher education administration or related presales experience, within Student / Academic Services (Admissions, Registration, Academic Records, Student Accounts, etc.).
  • Hands-on expertise with Banner Student is required; experience with Banner Finance is strongly preferred.
  • A solid understanding of higher education business processes, institutional constraints, and industry trends.
  • The ability to translate functional expertise into clear, value-focused conversations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort operating in a SaaS-first environment, with curiosity and willingness to continuously learn evolving solutions and delivery models.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to logically and confidently communicate complex concepts.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team, meet deadlines, follow through on commitments, and act with urgency when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Banner Student subject matter expert, helping institutions understand how Ellucian solutions support the full student lifecycle, from admissions through completion.
  • Participate in structured discovery and strategy conversations to understand institutional goals, challenges, and readiness, working in partnership with sales, SBAs, and services teams.
  • Deliver virtual and on-site capability demonstrations that are aligned to customer needs, sales strategy, and realistic delivery approaches — emphasizing what is standard, configurable, and scalable.
  • Collaborate within a team-based model, contributing your functional expertise while supporting broader opportunity ownership and continuity from presales into delivery.
  • Build credibility and trust with institutional stakeholders — including staff, administrators, and decision-makers — through clear communication, practical insight, and higher-ed expertise.
  • Support competitive and complex pursuits by helping customers visualize outcomes, assess fit, and move forward with confidence.
  • Represent Ellucian at regional and national conferences, user groups, and events, sharing expertise and strengthening Ellucian’s presence in the higher education community.
