About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Procurement and Payment Services Solutions, the Senior Solutions Architect defines technology solutions that satisfy the needs of the business by analyzing business requirements, evaluating existing systems, and proposing optimal architectures to solve business challenges. The Senior Solutions Architect acts as a bridge between business needs and technical capabilities. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Oracle Cloud, Concur and other Procure to Pay applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in information technology roles, with 1-3 years' experience in architecture roles (enterprise or solution architecture).
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience working with Procure-to-Pay applications.
  • Previous experience in a higher education institution.
  • Familiarity with administrative processes, procedures, and systems within a university setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytical techniques to reconcile financial data and review and process financial documents.
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and works effectively in diverse situations, with various individuals or groups.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and databases.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication, can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership: Guide technical teams and facilitate decision-making.
  • Influencing: Effectively build consensus, successfully motivate others to move forward with a proposed architecture solution.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of relevant technologies (cloud computing, databases, networking, software development methodologies, domain driven design, event driven architecture).

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement technical solutions by developing an understanding of business functions and challenges, translating complex requirements into effective designs that align with enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Propose optimal architectural designs that prioritize cost-effectiveness, performance, scalability, reuse, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of solution implementation projects, providing technical leadership and mentorship to delivery teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Procure-to-Pay applications, with specific emphasis on Oracle Cloud and Concur.
  • Create and maintain clear architectural documentation to successfully communicate proposed solutions to all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to manage expectations and ensure alignment with enterprise policies and standards.
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify and recommend improvements based on industry trends and professional knowledge.
  • Enhance training and operational procedures to drive increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Act as a functional approver for the Change Approval Board (CAB) to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
  • Provide technical and business domain mentorship and coaching to guide delivery teams throughout the implementation process.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by effectively communicating complex technical concepts and addressing concerns
  • Leads requirements analysis, translating requirements into a scope document and developing reporting deliverables based on the design.
  • Works with users to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations. Provides support and communicates issues to users as defined by IT standards. Monitors access control and troubleshoot BI and analytic applications.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
