This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of systems problem solvers, you will directly support Blue Origin's success by leading pivotal initiatives that support effective development, testing, verification, certification, and operations of a varied portfolio of supply chain tools that impact all Blue Origin programs. Your role will consist of taking your understanding of our products and procedures and listening to the problems of our key partners across Operations and Engineering to 1) identify new digital and procedural solutions opportunities, 2) create a streamlined well-defined problem statement, 3) generate options and evaluate various solutions that link directly to the company goals, 4) developing and managing roadmap execution using iterative value delivery in small pieces that improve the work processes that our teams complete, and 5) supervise the implementation of the roadmap results to be sure they are accomplishing the stated value. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
  • 10+ years track record of building software or digital solutions
  • Aerospace industry experience or equivalent safety-critical environment
  • Strong appreciation for human-centered design, outstanding customer experiences, and experience of collaboration with creative partners
  • Consistent track record of developing cohesive, compelling strategic visions for experience, product, and service challenges
  • Support up to 10% of domestic travel to engage key partners and support training

Nice To Haves

  • Systems engineering and aerospace engineering experience
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within a matrix organization - Experience working with senior leadership and key partners to manage business changes
  • Experience developing applications around enterprise systems (e.g., Windchill, Jama, ERP, MRP) and their APIs
  • Collaborate with Enterprise campaigns, Engineering and Business Leaders, and Program Partners to evaluate business challenges and shape Continuous Improvement across our engineering processes and toolsets to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand user's needs and behaviors through collaborative research methodologies, interviews, and workshops to identify new opportunities and solutions around the future of safe, reliable, reusable propulsion systems
  • Develop strategies and approaches that will enable the capabilities of the future.
  • Use prototyping & experimentation to drive decision-making and measure the impact of the experiences we're building quantitatively
  • Collaborate closely with multi-functional team members and a broad set of partners (internal and external) from business executives, design and research partners, product owners, and supply chain teams through an iterative design process for framing, problem-solving, and synthesis of design problems.
  • Establish, document, and improve processes and products specific to supply chain needs consistent with innovative processes while maintaining the speed, agility, and efficiency of a startup operation. The processes established will support collecting vital compliance data, improve cycle time, and user acceptance, and will reduce defects and rework
  • Champion thoughtful, well-rounded experiences and create clear and concise design strategies for achieving them across emerging and often ambiguous intersections of technology and human experiences
  • Scout and propose innovative technologies in a wide variety of business areas (e.g., engineering, analysis, operations, testing, verification)
  • Develop and communicate tool roadmaps and plans to leadership and partners
  • Evaluate and facilitate commercial software purchases and deployment in a fast-paced environment
