About The Position

The Department of the Navy requires a Senior Software Lifecycle and Licensing Analyst (SSLLA) with extensive subject matter expertise in Microsoft and RedHat Licensing. This role focuses on optimizing the user experience with software products and advising clients on the necessary software to meet mission requirements. The analyst will evaluate customer needs, map them to appropriate solutions and licensing models, considering hardware requirements, compatibility, and lifecycle management. The SSLLA will also recommend solutions for system dependencies, advise on software and licensing purchases to balance capability and cost, and develop IT software roadmaps. This includes analyzing operational and baseline impacts, obsolescence, and identifying future software capabilities and their benefits to the government.

Requirements

  • Subject matter expertise with computer hardware platforms including an in-depth ability to interpret CPU/RAM/Storage and other hardware specifications related to client and server hardware
  • Experience working with various soft client-based and server-based hardware
  • Understanding of Power Automate, data architecture, and virtualized, and cloud-based solutions
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of vendor licensing models
  • Familiarity with on-prem versus cloud-based solutions
  • Understanding of network bandwidth requirements for software deployments
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of current and emergent technologies

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer requirements and map them to the appropriate solution and corresponding licensing models
  • Conduct analysis including evaluation of minimum and recommended hardware requirements, virtual versus physical hardware specifications, hardware/software compatibility constraints, hardware and software lifecycle management, and other critical dependencies
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions to address key system dependencies and customer requirements
  • Advise customers in planning the purchase of appropriate software and licensing to optimize desired capability and balance cost with budgetary constraints
  • Develop and maintain information technology software roadmaps
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of operational impacts, baseline impacts, obsolescence analysis, and identify future software capabilities which include the associated benefits to the government
