The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join the Secure Computing Solutions team located in Pleasanton, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The selected candidate will be required to work 100% onsite in Pleasanton with a travel requirement of approximately 10%. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers developing security solutions (Software Tools, BSPs, Firmware, etc.) around our custom SoC's and embedded systems for defense, commercial and aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will excel in both the engineering technical acumen/excellence required for this role while also being an engaging and motivating people leader.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading or managing a software engineering organization and software activities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with geographically dispersed value stream stakeholders and external customers to resolve complex issues
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing/implementing strategic plans, delivering on commitments and results
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and agile software engineering best practices
  • Experience influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations to define and drive common objectives
  • Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience in leadership roles leading teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change

  • Collaborate with and contribute to the success of software efforts across the division as well as more broadly into BDS and Enterprise software engagement.
  • Accountable to the BDS Air Dominance Software Leader as their assigned manager as well as secondarily to the Applied Solutions Integrated Product Team Leader.
