We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer – Frontend to help build the next generation of associate-facing applications used by millions across the U.S. and global markets. Job Description We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) with deep hands-on experience in React and modern frontend technologies. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and implementing user-facing features that are performant, accessible, and scalable. You’ll contribute to a React Native–based container strategy that powers both web and mobile views, ensuring a consistent and responsive experience across platforms. You’ll also help integrate GenAI capabilities to enhance user experience and developer workflows. What You’ll Do Build rich, interactive UI components using React and React Native, targeting shared deployment for web and mobile. Develop pixel-perfect, accessible, and responsive user experiences using modern frontend tooling and component libraries. Migrate legacy frontends (e.g., JSP-based UI) to React within a modular, scalable architecture. Work within Walmart’s containerized frontend delivery model, collaborating with platform teams to align with standards. Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies with a collaborative mindset. Write clean, testable code and contribute to automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and UI tests). Implement CI/CD and observability best practices for frontend delivery and runtime performance monitoring. Collaborate with UX designers and product managers to align implementation with business needs and design specifications. Explore and integrate GenAI-based enhancements to improve form inputs, suggestions, or guided actions. What You’ll Bring 5+ years of hands-on frontend development experience. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and the React ecosystem. Experience with React Native or shared component frameworks across web and mobile platforms. Deep understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and browser compatibility best practices. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code linting, and test automation frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress). Comfort working in Agile development environments with version control (Git/GitHub). Experience modernizing legacy UIs or working within large-scale design systems. Exposure to GenAI technologies or strong interest in AI-driven UI improvements. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills. Clear written and verbal communication.
