The Technology, Product & Experience (TPX) organization is responsible for developing and delivering products that transform the customer experience. This role is within the RDK Pre-Release Operations Engineering Organization, which ensures high standards of product certification, precision, and readiness before market release through operational oversight, stringent quality processes, advanced tooling, and methodologies. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications, analyzing, testing, and assisting with the integration of new applications, overseeing documentation, training non-technical personnel, and tracking performance metrics. This individual acts as a key contributor in a complex environment, may lead teams or projects, and shares expertise.

Requirements

  • Architecting and implementing solid technical solutions to meet business needs
  • Strong experience with broadband product architecture
  • Deep experience in validating Networking and Wi-Fi Protocols (DHCP v4/v6, DNS, ipv6, Wi-Fi 5/6/7)
  • 5-7 years of experience in System Design & Architecture
  • 5-7 years of experience in Advanced programming (Java, Python, Shell Scripting, C, C++)
  • 5-7 years of experience with Database (SQL, Mango)
  • 5-7 years of experience with Infrastructure & Cloud (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Cloud Foundry)
  • 5-7 years of experience with Version Control & CI/CD (Jenkins, GIT)
  • 5-7 years of experience in Security & Compliance
  • 5-7 years of experience in Debugging & Troubleshooting
  • 5-7 years of experience in Reliability engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree (or some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience)
  • 7-10 Years Relevant Work Experience

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements.
  • Conduct analysis to determine integration needs.
  • Design new software and web applications, support applications under development, and customize current applications.
  • Develop software update processes for existing applications.
  • Assist in the roll-out of software releases.
  • Train junior Software Development Engineers on internally developed software applications.
  • Oversee the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports.
  • Keep current with technological developments within the industry.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products.
  • Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Serve as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers.
  • Assist in tracking and evaluating performance metrics.
  • Ensure team delivers software on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Work with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
  • Display expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Display expertise in process design and redesign skills.
  • Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal audiences.
