INNOVIM is seeking a Front-End Software Developer to support NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract. INNOVIM's EED-3 team provides Earth scientists and others access to data from NASA's Earth Science missions. The candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile development environment performing operations, design, and development for NASA's Earthdata Search Client. As a member of the EED-3 team, the software developer will build and support innovative tools allowing scientists and students alike to discover, transform, update, and improve the quality of earth science data in the pursuit of solving a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues. This includes leading the deployment of product updates, to identify production issues and construct scalable architecture. Location: Remote, based out of Annapolis, MD Travel: Mandatory quarterly for PI Planning Must be a US Citizen

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical major, such as engineering or computer science
  • 6+ years of strong Software Engineering experience (Front-End)
  • Strong, deep knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js)
  • Experience with end-to-end testing, unit tests, test driven development (TDD)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrable knowledge of git
  • 3+ years of experience building and utilizing Rest or GraphQL APIs.
  • 3-5 years working on SPAs (single page applications) within serverless environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud, including networking and serverless services such as Lambda and Step Functions.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical, and leadership skills, the ability to take initiative and proactively debug complex issues
  • Knowledge of geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., GeoJSON, KML, Shapefile)
  • Familiarity with GIS software and tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • Knowledge of cloud native file formats
  • Experience with end-to-end testing, unit tests, test driven development (TDD)
  • Ability to work with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology
  • Experience with full life cycle Software design and development experience on large/complex n-tier client/server applications.
